Biotabs Starter Pack

The Biotabs Starter Kit delivers a complete organic feeding system for 5 to 10 plants in a single package. It includes Startrex soil conditioner, Mycotrex mycorrhizal inoculant, Bactrex beneficial bacteria, ten slow-release BioTabs fertiliser tablets (NPK 15-7-8) and Orgatrex liquid plant feed. Together these five components establish a self-sustaining soil microbiome that converts organic matter into plant-available nutrients throughout the entire growth cycle. No pH adjustment, no EC monitoring, no multi-bottle feeding schedules — prepare the substrate once and water with plain tap water. The certified 100% organic formulation is compatible with both soil and coco substrates for indoor or outdoor cultivation. Explore this all-in-one starter kit from Biotabs at Plant&Flower.

Biotabs Starter Kit — complete organic grow system for 5 to 10 plants

Achieving consistent results with organic cultivation depends on one critical factor: establishing a functional soil microbiome before the first root reaches into the substrate. The Biotabs Starter Kit from Biotabs addresses this directly by combining five precision-formulated biological products that work as an integrated system — not isolated additives. The result is a substrate environment where nutrient mineralisation, root protection and mycorrhizal symbiosis operate simultaneously from day one.

What makes this system different from liquid organic feeds?

Most liquid organic fertilisers still require the grower to manage feeding schedules, pH levels and nutrient ratios manually. The Biotabs system takes a fundamentally different approach. The slow-release BioTabs tablets (NPK 15-7-8) contain bone meal, blood meal, feather meal, fish meal and natural humic acids that are gradually broken down by the beneficial microbes introduced through Bactrex and Startrex. This biological mineralisation process delivers nutrients at the rate the plant actually demands — eliminating both overfeeding and deficiency.

Kit components and their functional roles

  • Startrex (250 g) — organic soil conditioner (NPK 3-1-2) with a high concentration of probiotic bacteria, fulvic acid and silicon. Restores microbial activity in sterilised potting mixes and accelerates root establishment.
  • Mycotrex (50 g) — concentrated blend of 9 endomycorrhizal spore species that colonise root systems, expanding effective nutrient uptake capacity by up to 700%. Contains beneficial rhizobacteria, seaweed meal and humic acid.
  • Bactrex (25 g) — water-soluble powder containing 6 strains of Bacillus spp., Trichoderma fungi and actinomycetes. Provides root zone protection against pathogens including Pythium while converting organic matter into available nutrients.
  • BioTabs tablets (10 units) — slow-release organic fertiliser tabs (NPK 15-7-8) placed 5-10 cm deep in the substrate at a rate of one tablet per 5 litres of growing media.
  • Orgatrex (0.25 L) — liquid organic growth and bloom booster (NPK 5-1-5) formulated with alfalfa meal, molasses and kali vinasse. Applied at 2 ml per litre from week five onwards.

Application protocol and substrate reuse

Setup requires a single preparation session. Mix 25 g of Startrex per 5 litres of substrate. Place 5 g of Mycotrex in the planting hole. Insert BioTabs tablets at 5-10 cm depth. Water with a Bactrex solution (1 g per litre). For the first four weeks, irrigate with plain water only. From week five, add Orgatrex to the irrigation water at every watering. The entire system runs on tap water with no pH or EC adjustments required.

A significant advantage of the Biotabs method is substrate reusability. After harvest, remove the old stem, replace the top 5 cm of substrate with fresh media amended with Startrex and Mycotrex, and replant directly. The established microbial population persists between cycles, often improving performance with each successive run.

How many plants can the Biotabs Starter Kit feed?

The kit contains sufficient product to feed 5 to 10 plants from propagation through harvest. Actual plant count depends on container volume — smaller pots (5-10 litres) allow more plants per kit, while larger containers (25+ litres) require proportionally more product per plant.

Does the Biotabs Starter Kit work with coco coir?

All five components in the Biotabs Starter Kit are formulated for both soil and coco coir substrates. The preparation protocol is identical — mix Startrex into the coco, apply Mycotrex in the planting hole and push the BioTabs tablets into the substrate at the specified depth.

Is pH and EC monitoring required with the Biotabs method?

The Biotabs organic system does not require pH or EC monitoring. The biological activity of the beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi naturally regulates nutrient availability in the root zone. Standard tap water is sufficient for the entire cultivation cycle.

Can the substrate be reused after a Biotabs grow cycle?

Substrates cultivated with Biotabs products can be reused across multiple cycles. Remove the previous plant stem, discard the top 5 cm of media and replace it with fresh substrate enriched with 25 g of Startrex and 3 g of Mycotrex per planting site. The established microbial population remains largely intact between runs.
