Should I seal around the bushing after fitting it?
Yes. Apply silicone caulk or acrylic sealant around the flange edge where it meets the wall. This prevents air leaks bypassing the duct and stops moisture from entering the wall cavity. On exterior walls, use weatherproof silicone for lasting protection.
