Why is the Superplant Gear Box 600W ballast incompatible with hybrid HPS-MH lamps?
Hybrid HPS-MH lamps have different electrical characteristics from standard HPS or MH lamps. A magnetic ballast designed for pure HPS or MH lamps cannot provide the specific voltage and current profile that hybrid lamps require, which can result in unstable ignition, excessive heat build-up in the ballast, or reduced lifespan for both the ballast and the lamp. Use only standard 600W HPS or standard 600W MH lamps with this ballast.
Does the Superplant Gear Box 600W come with a cable to connect to the reflector?
The Superplant Gear Box 600W includes a 220-240V mains power cable and has an IEC output socket compatible with standard reflector cords. If your reflector comes with its own IEC cord, no additional purchase is needed. If your reflector does not include an IEC cord, you will need to source one separately to connect the ballast to the reflector's lamp holder.
How should I store or position the Superplant Gear Box 600W ballast in my grow room?
Place the Superplant Gear Box 600W on a flat, stable bench or shelf elevated from the floor to protect it from water splashes. The rubber feet ensure stable placement and vibration damping on any surface. Always allow adequate space around the housing for the ventilation slots to function. Never cover the ballast, stack items on it, or place it directly on the floor. When running multiple ballasts, maintain at least 100mm of clearance between units to allow heat dissipation from each housing.
